Release notes
What changed in each version of FuGPS.
Version 0.1.0 · October 2026 · first release
New
- Drive recording. Vehicle speed and engine RPM from the OBD-II adapter (about 16 readings per second on a modern CAN car), motion sensors at 100 Hz, and GPS as a reference track — all on one shared clock.
- Recording with the screen locked. Lock the phone in its mount and recording continues.
- Automatic reconnect. If the adapter drops out, for example when it is unplugged or the ignition is switched off and on, the app reconnects and carries on with the same recording.
- Live map. Your estimated position by dead reckoning, with an accuracy ellipse and heading-up mode, matched to offline roads of Ukraine.
- Sessions. Browse, share and delete recordings. They are also available in the Files app.
- Pre-drive checklist before you start a recording.
- Read-only by design. FuGPS sends your car only read-only OBD-II requests from a fixed allowlist. It cannot clear fault codes or change any vehicle setting.
Known limitations
- FuGPS is experimental. Without GPS the estimated position drifts over time, and accuracy depends on the phone staying fixed in its mount.
- Only Bluetooth LE OBD-II adapters are supported — see supported cars.
- Offline roads cover Ukraine only.
- iPhone only, portrait orientation.
